ABOUT
Marcus

Marcus has always found himself at the border between two worlds. As a Kiwi born Hong Kong Chinese, as a classical cellist and jazz pianist, and as a performer and composer. For him, this nurtured a passion in both showcasing the music of different genres and the music which bridges different mediums.
Marcus graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) (BH-MUS) from the University of Melbourne achieving First-Class Honours under the mentorship of Edith Salzmann and Josephine Vains. He has a breadth of experience in solo, chamber music and orchestral playing having regularly attended the International Akaroa Music Festival and is also an active educator and accompanist in Melbourne.
With his experience in a variety of genres, Marcus is also an active recording artist in the games and media scene in Melbourne. Having a love for the interaction of music and media, he has worked on GameJam projects such as "We As Slaves" with composer Simon Stemberger as well as Cover Albums and arrangements with Resonant Union.
Marcus is a founding member and Co-Director of Ricochet Music Group, a music organisation based in Melbourne providing tailored music experiences for private and public events, as well as creating their own unique concert experiences with local and international artists.
